Dr. Jared Ivie is a native of southeast Idaho and was raised in Firth, Idaho, where he graduated high school. He received his Bachelors of Biology Degree at Idaho State University in Pocatello. Dr. Ivie then attended optometry school in Memphis, Tennessee at the Southern College of Optometry. During his time in optometry school, he was part of the professor elected Student Ambassador program, where he assisted in student recruitment, admissions, and public relations of the college. He also traveled to both the Dominican Republic and Mexico on humanitarian eye care trips, providing vision and medical care to those in need. While in school and during his externships Dr. Ivie trained with two premier vision and medical eye care centers in Memphis, the Eclectic Eye, and Southern Eye Associates. Dr. Ivie graduated with his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2009 and at graduation was awarded the X-Cel Contacts Outstanding GP Fitting Award for excellence in clinical contact lens fitting.
Upon graduation, Dr. Ivie attended an intense one-year primary care optometry residency program at the Memphis Veterans Affairs Hospital. During this time he was proud to provide visual and medical care for hundreds of our nation’s veterans, treating such diseases as glaucoma, diabetes, and macular degeneration. Shortly after finishing his residency Dr. Ivie entered family practice as an associate at Newcastle Vision Clinic in eastern Wyoming. Dr. Ivie provided eye care services for all ages including low vision, cataract/Lasik surgery post-op, and medical eye care, but gained a true passion for pediatrics and working with children.
Dr. Ivie is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and four children.
